Mountainbike holiday in Austria

Whether you want to take the family for a leisurely bike ride or you are a professional mountain biker who wants to tackle the winding trails of the various mountain bike parks, you will find what you are looking for in Austria’s varied mountain terrain. Here you can enjoy the scenery as well as the adrenaline rush of the steep mountain trails.

Mountain biking in St. Anton

Both Wagrain and Schladming offer both cross-country and downhill mountain biking, and tours can be tailored to suit your ability and what you feel like doing that day. Mountain biking is not just for experienced cyclists – everyone can take part, adults and children alike.

Take the family on a guided tour of the challenging and exciting mountain scenery. Tours are planned and led by qualified guides who know the area.

Mountain biking in Wagrain

The area is very popular with families during the skiing season, but the Grießenkareck and Grafenberg mountains also have a lot to offer cyclists and those looking for an active holiday during the summer season.

In addition to the many and varied mountain bike trails in Wagrain, there is also the Wagrain Bike Park, which offers that little bit extra. A playground for beginners and pros alike, the park is easily accessible by the Flying Mozart lift.

There is no need to bring anything from home as everything from protective gear to bikes can be hired at the base of the Flying Mozart. You can also book a guide to show you the best of what Wagrain has to offer.

Mountain biking in Schladming

Schladming’s vibrant landscape offers wild and idyllic experiences that will challenge even the toughest of riders.

Test your limits on the steep downhills of the Bike Park. Here you will face nature’s own challenges: jumps, narrow passages and steep forest paths. Start at 1830 metres above sea level on the Planai and ride all the way to the finish line at the Olympic Stadium in the centre of Schladming.

For the more casual mountain biker, there is a family tour that starts halfway up the Planai. This avoids the steepest sections and allows young and old alike to enjoy the ride.

Mountain biking in Zell am See

Zell am See is an ideal area for mountain bike enthusiasts and downhill riders. There is a wide variety of routes, from easy, family-friendly trails to challenging, technical routes for the more experienced.
The lifts are adapted for cyclists in the summer, making it easy to access the terrain and enjoy long descents with stunning views of the lake and mountains.
The area has several official downhill tracks with exciting obstacles and sharp turns. If you’re a beginner, there are also plenty of places to hire equipment and take lessons. Zell am See is known as a bike friendly area with something for all levels.
